Susmita Dey is a photographer based in Kolkata. Born in Kolkata, India, Dey majored in Bioengineering before taking her formal training in photography from Calcutta School of Contemporary Photography. Although she developed a strong inclination towards fashion and product photography over time, Dey’s interest is strongly rooted in travel and wildlife. Her fertile mind for learning about different cultures, languages and forms of art has been her main passion and keeps her inspired to travel extensively and make pictures. Her work does not have a particular style but her basic principle is focused on the humanness, sensitivity and simplicity of daily life.
